FIRST POST

Hi.  Since I was a kid I've been fascinated by urban legends. Not even urban legends. Just any kind of legend. Stories about Big Foot, aliens, lake monsters, vampires, ghosts, werewolves. Stories about men with hooks for hands, stories about girls you pick up on the side of the road who've been dead for twenty years, stories about ghostly railroad lights. Every place you go is littered with them. I would guess it takes someone very hard pressed (and repressive) to deny that their town, no matter, how small, has its own stories.  Since I graduate college officially in two days, my gift to myself is to do what I like most. Recording people's stories. I went to school for a degree in history for that reason. But the stories that interest me most aren't wars or high level political decisions. They're the stories that people tell their neighbors after a few glasses of wine, or kids swap on the swings in the playground. They're the stories that make ...
